Drawing inspiration from the I-Ching’s second hexagram, "Kun" (The Receptive), this work encapsulates the chilling prophecy of its first line: "Walking on hoarfrost, hard ice is arriving." It is a timeless warning of gathering shadows—a reminder that a great crisis is heralded by the smallest of signs.

In this composition, a vast, avalanche-like expanse of white dominates the upper canvas, symbolizing the overwhelming weight of impending danger. Beneath this icy void, the dark blue waters represent the fragile comfort of our current existence, now under immense pressure.

The focal point features frost-laden camellias, which in the artist’s hometown carry the symbolic weight of "Farewell." This choice of flower signifies a profound resolution: the act of letting go of earthly attachments and finding the inner resolve to face the inevitable winter.

Utilising the crystalline texture of Iwa-enogu (mineral pigments), Liang Jiamin masterfully balances the void with a sense of urgent presence. This piece is a visual meditation on foresight and the quiet courage required to stand firm as the world turns cold.
